Zamfara DG’s Forum Reaffirms Support, Passes Vote of Confidence On Gov Matawalle —Vows To Work Hard For His Second Term Bid

The Zamfara State DG’s Forum has reaffirmed total supports, corporation, commitment and passed vote of confidence to the leadership style of Governor Bello Matawalle. 

This was contained in a statement by the Publicity Secretary of the forum, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Sunday.

The forum, according to the statement also resolved to consult widely with  the imminent personalities within and outside the state through proper contact and mebolisation to galvanise support to the Governor towards his successful re-election bid in the forthcoming 2023 general Elections.

The Congress also passed the same vote of confidence to the leadership of the forum under the chairmanship of Hon Idris Garba Rikiji for being focused, prudent and always keeping members informed in all key decision-making events of the forum.

Declaring  the congress opened which took place at the Zamfara Radio and Television service conference hall, the state chairman of the forum, Hon Idris Garba Rikiji told the gathering that time has come for the forum to redesign its strategy on how to fully galvanise support from the people at the grassroots towards the successful re-election bid of Governor Bello Matawallen Maradun and by extension the ruling Apc in the state. 

He further informed his colleagues that more than any other time in the past, all hands must now be on deck to ensure that DG’s forum spare heads the campaign strategies of his Execellency through conventional and unconventional means so as to reciprocate the gesture done to the forum by the Governor. 

Hon Rikiji said with the current number of DG’s increasing almost on daily basis coupled with resilience and commitment of the members envisaging for the success of the present Administration, he was optimistic that the forum would insha-Allahu be at the forefront of campaign exercise come 2023.

He said in order to ensure the success of the project, a well  co-ordinating body comprising the senior and junior colleagues, the Special Advisers and commissioners as well as Senior Special Assistants and special Assistants under the supervision of the secretary to the state Government Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe was formed to dully co-ordinate the exercise and to give it a close mark. 

He said as responsible forum, Directors General of this administration will soon come-up with some articulated programmes in both conventional and unconventional media with the sole of aim of creating awareness to the general public on the laudable policies and programmes of the present regime in the state. 

He then solicited for the support and corporation of his fellow members in proper dissemination of information to the people at the grassroots on the successes of the present administration in the state. 


Earlier in an address of welcome, the vice chairman of the forum Comrade Babangida Umar Zurmi thanked the members for attending the Congress from far and near despite the security challenges associated with travelling now adays.

He further explained that attending the Congress in large number such as this indicated that DG’s in the state were fully concerned and were always identified by the government of the day.

Comrade Zurmi then thanked every one that attended the meeting and wish everyone a safe journey back to his destination at this yuletide season.

Also at yesterday’s meeting/Congress, the treasurer of the forum Hon Mika’ilu Aliyu Gusau briefed members on the financial status of the forum to the satisfaction of the members.

Next Congress of the forum would be conducted same venue  insha-Allahu at the end of February next year.
