Two notorious bandit leaders, Alhaji Auta, and Kachalla Ruga were said to have been killed in an air raid of a forest in Zamfara State.
Impeccable sources have revealed that the notorious bandits leaders were killed after a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft, under Operation Hadarin Daji, acted on credible intelligence, and bombarded their enclaves at Gusami Forest and Tsamre Village in Birnin Magaji local government area of the state last Friday night.
According to the sources multiple airstrikes by the NAF jet, which were carried out in the early hours of Saturday have also led to the death of several other bandits.
The sources revealed that some bandits were killed by the military jet when they converged at Auta’s resident for his burial.
A military intelligence officer who spoke on anonymity explained that the follow-up airstrikes conducted by the NAF fighter aircraft on fleeing bandits and those who took cover under trees within the area, resulted in the killing of many bandits.
“For now, the whereabouts of other notorious bandits like Alhaji Nashama, Shingi and Halilu who may either be killed or on the run remain unknown,” the officer added.
There was no official statement from the Army in Zamfara State or at the Military Defence Headquarters in Abuja at the time of filing in this report.
