A former Aviation Minister and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Femi Fani-Kayode has called on Nigerians to rise up against the foreign elements who are bent on destabilizing the country through killing of innocent citizens, especially in Zamfara State.
Kayode who was speaking in Government House Gusau when he paid a condolence visit to Governor Bello Matawalle said some people were using Zamfara and the entire Northwest zone, as a killing field to prove to the World that Nigeria was ungovernable, divided and things were not right in the country.
Kayode who expressed disgust over the recent killings of innocent people in Zamfara State called on all Nigerians irrespective of their ethnicity, religious or political affiliations to come together to fight foreigners who pretended to be Nigerians by speak Arabic and French.
“They come to Nigeria, speaking Arabic and French languages, killing innocent people in the North and South. We must unite to fight them”. Said Kayode.
He called on people of the South to show more concern by talking more against the attacks and killings of innocent citizens in the NorthWest, especially in Zamfara State.
He described the killings in Zamfara State as a tragedy of monumental proportion just like the killings in any parts of Nigeria.
He applauded the efforts of Governor Bello Matawalle in the ongoing fight against the terrorists, pointing out that, “Without Matawalle’s efforts, the security challenges would have been worse than what it is now”.
He called on the Federal Government to arrest sponsors of the terrorist activities and bring them to book no matter their position in the society in order to serve as deterrent to others.
