Gen Bande Eyes Kebbi Governorship Seat, Vows To Fight Poverty

As struggle into Kebbi government house began in earnest, the former General Commanding Officer in changed of 8th Division General Aminu Bande has yesterday declared for people’s Democratic Party (PDP) and declared intent to contest for governorship of the state.

Making the declaration today at the Birnin Kebbi local government Secretariat of the PDP, the aspirant said the idea of coming to the party’s Secretariat was inline with the PDP constitution

He explained further that he had earlier made similar declaration right from his Nasarawa ward (1) where he obtained a membership registration card of the party.

He however, told the mamouth crowd that his declaration was after a due consultations with friends, relatives, well wishers as well as party elders who gave him the blessings and rudiments of  politics.

According to him “if given the mandate as a Governor, I will ensure that poverty reduced drastically amongst people, let me tell you that as a result of killing the local government system is the factor responsible for the influx of people to the urban cities” he said

General Bande further revealled that his rolling plans shall include reactivating the local government system to the extent that the rural migration will become a thing of the past.

“My people I retired as general and I have all it takes to survive the remaining years of my life, but I feel I should come and contest for governor so that by the will of God I salvage the good people of this state” he decided

Also speaking, the Kebbi Central Senatorial District aspirant Alhaji Abubakar Shehu (GEDA), said the general was a man of proven integrity and character, adding that people of the state should rally behind him so as to to enable succeed.

Earlier, the party chairman of PDP Birnin Kebbi local government, Alhaji Boyi Zauro, said the party has been blessed with the coming of General Aminu Bande and assured of the party’s unflinching support that would be enable him succeed.
