Banditry: Zamfara Govt Donates N7m To Families Of Seven Slain Policemen

Zamfara state government has given one million Naira to each of the families of the seven policemen killed by bandits.

Presenting the cash to the families of the slain policemen in Gusau today, the commissioner of police CP Ayuba Elkana said the gesture was part of the state government’s efforts to alleviate their sufferings.

Elkana said, the seven policemen died in an active service, as such, there was the need to help their families who lost their breadwinners.

“They died in an active service while trying to protect the lives of the innocent citizens of the country, living behind their families who solely relied on them”.

“As such, the Zamfara state government donated the money to their respective families to alleviate their sufferings”.

Recall that seven police Personnel were killed by gunmen suspected to be bandits along Tofa-Magami road in Gusau local Government area of the State.

The incident occurred about 6pm on September 11, 2021 when they went to the area on patrol mission.

They were ambushed by the bandits where they were killed and their operational vehicle  was set ablaze.
