The All Progressives Congress, APC Caucus of the 9th Senate of Nigeria has described former Governor of Zamfara State, Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Zamfara) as a formidable force that can be used in repositioning the Party for better results.
This was contained in a statement by the Chairman, Zamfara APC Publicity Committee, Ibrahim Muhammad
(Danmadamin Birnin Magaji and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Tuesday.
Deputy Senate President, Mr. Omo Agege made the disclosure on Tuesday, when the Party’s Caucus in the Senate received in audience, Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, an APC National Chairmanship Aspirant in the forthcoming Party’s Convention slated for March 26, 2022 who paid the Caucus a courtesy visit.
According to the Deputy Senate President, APC as a party at this point in time needs energetic, vibrant, competent and capable hand that will see it out of the woods, stressing that Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar is one of such figures that are abound in the Party who can do the job .
Senator Omo Agege explained that the aspirant is a true party man whom he worked with closely and found him to be upright, sound and focused.
He commended the former Governor for the visit and pleaded with him to sustain his efforts towards ensuring cohesion in the party before, during and after its National Convention.
Addressing the Caucus , Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar said its members are important segment in nation building apart from being critical stakeholders in the process of electing the Party’s National Leadership.
Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar maintained that he was at the Senate to enlist the support of APC Senators towards realisation of his aspiration of becoming the Party’s National Chairman.
He pointed out that cordial working relationship existing between him and APC Senators will continue to be sustained for the good of the Party in particular, Democracy and Nigeria.
Speaking to Senate Press Corps after the visit, Hon. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar said he was not aware of anointment of any aspirant for the Party’s National Chairman by President Muhammadu Buhari or micro zoning arrangement which zoned the Position to a particular Geo- Political Zone .
He said as one of the National Leaders of the Party who will have been part of the decision-making process that spelt out the alleged
micro zoning arrangement trending in the Social Media, stressing that it was the same mistake that deprived the Party of a Steady and United Leadership in its last National Convention that produced Chief Adams Oshiomhole as Chairman.
He said as a matter of equity, fairness and justice all Aspirants should be allowed to canvass for Votes from Delegates to the Convention so that the next National Leaders of the Party will be voted through ballot box.
