Zamfara Police Arrest Two Suspects For Vandalizing PHCN Installation, Recover Copper Wire

The Zamfara State Police Command has arrested two Suspects for allegedly vandalizing PHCN installation and recovered melted aluminium conductor wire in Wanzammai village of Tsafe local government area of the state.

This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the command SP Mohammed Shehu and made available to Analyzer news.

The suspects according to Shehu are; Mubarak Aliyu and Sani Ahmed both of them are 25 years of age.

Shehu said, “The arrest followed a distress call received from the Area Manager, Power Holding Company of Nigera, popularly known as NEPA, Tsafe branch, regarding the vandalisation of Transformer and other electrical installations in Wanzamai Village”.

He said, “A large quantity of aluminium conductor wire valued at about Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (N800, 000) were removed”.

“DPO Tsafe acted on intelligence information and arrested the above named suspects in possession with large quantity of melted Aluminium conductor wire”.

“On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the offence and further mentioned their partners in crime now at large”.

Shehu said, the Command under the leadership of CP Ayuba N. Elkanah was applying various strategies to arrest
the fleeing suspects and charge them to court for Prosecution.

“While the Command assures adequate Protection of Public and Private installations across the State, it advises members of the public to be vigilant and report any attempt to vandalise such equipment for prompt action”. Shehu concluded.
