Gov Matawalle Wins Second Term Ticket, Scores 733 Votes

Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state has been declared the All Progressive Congress candidate for 2023 governorship election.

Matawalle who contested unopposed got 733 votes out of 735 votes cast.


Announcing the result, the returning officer, Babagana Tijjani said, 735 delegates cast their votes, stressing that, two votes were invalid.

Tijjani commended the delegates for the maturity they displaced during and after the election.
He appealed to APC supporters to remain united and work for the success of the party in 2023 general elections.

“I really appreciate how the election was conducted because the delegates have shown a sense of maturity”.

“I want to appeal to all the supporters of our great party to work extra hard to ensure that the party wins all the positions come 2023”.


In his speech at the occasion, Governor Bello Mattawale thanked the delegates for giving him the mandate to contest the 2023 Governorship election.

Matawalle reiterated his commitment to continue fighting the bandits if reelected for the second term.


He commended former Governor Yari and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa for reconciling with him, urging all APC supporters to accept the reconciliation process for the progress of the state.
