ADC conducts primaries in Zamfara, vows to unseat Matawalle in 2023

The Zamfara state chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has conducted its primary elections in Zamfara state with the assurance that it would take over the state in 2023.

Addressing party supporters during the primary elections for governorship, state and national assembly positions held in Gusau today, the party’s chairman, Kabiru Garba said, “APC has failed to deliver in Zamfara, as such the ADC will take over the state come 2023”.

He maitained that, the insecurity situation, coupled with political instability currently affecting the state were enough reasons to chase Governor Matawalle from office, calling on the people of the state to vote for ADC candidate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

“I want to assure the good people of Zamfara state that, we will bring positive changes in the state if elected in 2023”.

Speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the election committee sent to the state by the ADC National headquarters in Abuja, Malami S. Galma commended the delegates for the peaceful conduct of the election.

He described the election as free and fair, calling on the ADC supporters to work hard for the success of the party in future elections. 


Jafar Salisu Gusau was elected unopposed as the party’s flag bearer in the state.

Similarly, all the remaining elective positions were also elected unopposed with the exception of Gusau/Tsafe Federal constituency where two candidates, Aliyu Sani Tsafe and Yusuf Sani contested.

Aliyu Sani Tsafe who scored 18 votes was declared winner and his opponent, Yusuf Sani scored six votes.
