Bandits have on Saturday killed two people and abducted four including the district head of Rini village in Bakura local government of Zamfara state.

An indigene of the village, Suleiman Samaila said the bandits attacked the town last Saturday where they stormed the house of the district head, Alhaji Haliru Suleiman and abducted him.

They also abducted a labourer working in the district head’s house and two housewives who are the wives to his two sons (daughters-in-law).

He said, “Immediately the bandits arrived at the village, they went straight to the resident of the district head, Alhaji Haliru Suleiman and abducted him at gun point”.

“They later abducted his labourer and his two daughters in law who happened to be the wives to his two sons who were not in the house during the attack”.

“They later went round the village where they also killed two persons for trying to avoid the abduction”

Samaila stressed that, majority of the people of the village took to their heels for fear of being killed or abducted.

Efforts to talk to the spokesperson of the state police command SP Mohammed Shehu failed as he could not be reached on phone.
