VOTER REGISTRATION: Zamfara Speaker Commends Stakeholders Determination, Commitment

The Local Governments Sub-Committees and other key stakeholders for the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise have been commended for their untiring support and commitments towards attaining the desired goals.

This was contained in a statement by the Director General, Press Affairs and Public Relations Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Usman Buyabiki (ANIPR) and made available to newsmen in Gusau on Friday.

The commendation acccording to Buyabiki was made by the Chairman main coordinating committee and Speaker Zamfara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, while receiving a progress report from the local government committees.

Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya who was represented by the committee secretary, Hon. Lawal M. Liman Gabdon Kaura said the effort of the local government committees has derived the process to significant stage comparing the status of the state’s registered voters before and after the state government’s intervention.

While appealing to the Members of the local government committees to upheld their commitments in that direction, he said the choice of Permanent Secretaries to serve as the secretaries of their respectives local government committees was deliberate and is yielding a fruitful result. Your staunchness to change the narratives upon the number of registered voters in the state is commendable, he added.

The Chairman who commended His Excellency, Governor Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun, Barden Kasar Hausa) for his foresight to intervene in the exercise, further called on the general public to pray and support government’s policies and programmes especially those aimed at bringing peace in the state.

He described the government’s intervention as timely and called on the eligible individuals to participate as the exercise is ongoing across the fourteen local governments
