The kaduna state government has warned individuals or groups to stop dumping refuse in drainages or undisgnated points to avoid wrath of the law.
The Zaria Metropolitan Authority administrator Hajiya Balaraba Aliyu Inuwa stated this while inaugurating the new Taskforce “Keep Zaria Metropolitan authority clean” held in Zaria local government council.
Hajiya Bakaraba who spoke through her Special Assistant Special Asistant Abdullahii Lawal Lere explained that the Taskforce would take the eesponsibility of keeping Zaria Metropolitan clean.
She said the term and reference of the Taskforce was to identify places and penalise defaulters through the authority concerned.
She pointed out that the terms of reference of the Taskforce included door to door campaigns on solids west collection to stop road side dumping of refuse .
She added that the Taskforce would ensure enforcement of effective and proper disposal of all solid wastes from houses and shops across the entire Metropolitan.
The Task force consists of head of Zaria Metropolitan authority, officials from Zaria and Sabon gari local government councils, security operatives, representative of Zazzau Emirate and all relevance agencies on invirounment affairs.
Speaking shortly after the innuaguration Sarkin Arewan Zazzau Alhaji Bello Bello Sulaiman assured the Taskforce that the emirate would participate actively in achieving the desired purpose.
Some members of the Task force expressed their determination to work hardtowards the success of the Taskforce.
