KAEDCO Cripples Commercial Activities in Zaria

Commercial activities have been at standstill in some parts of Zaria town in kaduna state following the removal of fuse at different transformer stations.

Our correspondent in Zaria reported that KAEDCO officials disconnected many business premises without any notice.

The most affected area is Tudun wada Zaria where all commercial activities such as welding, tailoring grinding and mechanical job are brought to a halt.

Many people who were affected by this scenario decried the action of KAEDCO which has made them  unable to feed their families. 

Speaking during a press briefing the spokesman of Tudun wada Zaria communities, Dr Hassan Lawal  explained that on August, 8 this year the staffers of KEADCO removed their transformer without notice.

Dr ,Hassan Lawal called on the Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli to intervene so as to restore the power supply.

Other business owners, Malam Ibrahim Hassan Panfo Maizabura  and Labaran Ibrahim explained that their businesses have been seriously affected due to the action of KEADCO. 

Malam Hassan Umar who is a mechanic by profession said for thefast ten days they were just  sitting in front of their workshops without doing any work as they relied on power supply to carry out their activities. 

Other areas in Zaria and environs are also witnessing similar problems.

These areas are; Unguwar kayaba behind Unguwar Amaru, Rimin Danza, Gwargwaje along Kaduna road and  Nagoyi junction transformer located near Arsalan jumaat mosque.

When contacted for comment, the Public Relations Officer KEADCO headquarters Kaduna directed newsmen to Zaria District Manager who also refused to comment on the issue, saying that, “Only the headquarters can speak on the issue”.
