Zamfara shuts down two local governments for insecurity

Following the persistent insecurity challenges, Zamfara state government has shut down two local government areas until further notice.

The affected local governments are, Anka and Bukkuyum.

Similarly, some roads leading to some towns and villages were also closed down.

The affected roads are, Colony to Lambar Boko road, Bakura to Lambar Damri Road, Mayanchi- Daki Takwas to Gummi Road, Daki Takwas to Zuru road, Kucheri- Bawaganga – Wanke road, Magami to Dangulbi road and Gusau to Magami road

Also closed down are Danjibga and Bagega markets where animals belonging to bandits were sold to the general public.

Announcing the measures on Friday, the commissioner of information Alhaji Ibrahim Magaji said, “All movements are henceforth restricted in the afore-mentioned local governments and towns”

Dosara said, security personnel have been directed to deal ruthlessly with anybody found violating the restriction order.

The measures according to the Commissioner were taken to facilitate and enable the gallant security operatives to conduct their operations without hindrances. 

“By this announcement, security personnel are hereby directed to deal ruthlessly with any one found violating these orders”.

“Government sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused to the general public by these measures”. Concluded the commissioner.
