Skills acquisition has been described as the best solution to youths involvement in banditry and all other forms of social vices.
It has also being described as the permanent solution to youths unemployment and over dependency on white colour jobs.
Buhari Musa, Director, ICT/Skills acquisition centre Tudun wada Zaria stated this during the 4th graduation ceremony of 1,444 students sponsored by Legislator representing Zaria Federal Constituency, Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen.
He said since inception of the centre in 2013, it has trained over 28,000 women and youths on various skills acquisition Programmes.
Musa explained that the students were drilled on over 20 different skills in Computer, Cosmetics, Tailoring designs and bags.
Earlier, the member representing Zaria Federal Constituency, Dr Abbas Tajuddeen said over 50,000 people were trained in 20 skills at the 4 skills acquisition centre established in the local government area.
He said the aim was to ensure that the teeming youths and women acquire one form of skills or the other to make them self sustainance.
The Legislator assured that more than 15,000 additional youths will be trained with starter pack this year while expressing his commitment to engage more youths on activities that could make them productive.
