From Maiharaji Altine Gusau
A former Senator from Zamfara state, Kabiru Garba Marafa has advised the opposition parties in the state to stop wasting their time as there was no vacancy in Gusau Government House until after 2027.
Marafa who is currently the state campaign coordinator for Tinubu for President made the pronouncement at a grand rally organized by the APC supporters in Gusau the state capital for Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambition.
Marafa specifically called on the PDP governorship candidate Dr Dauda Lawan Dare to forget his governorship ambition and return to his former party the APC and wait for his time.
“I want to use this opportunity to inform the opposition parties that, there is no vacancy in Zamfara Government House until after Matawalle finishes his second tenure in 2027”.
“I am calling on my younger brother to forget the PDP and come back to his former party the APC and reunite with his political associates if he really wants to fulfill his dream”.
“Matawalle is finishing his second term tenure in 2027 and you can contest after him and if you are ordained by God to be a governor, we will support you”.
Marafa stressed that, Lawan Dare was misguided by some politicians in joining and contesting the governorship election under the PDP.
According to Marafa, most of those who advised Dauda Lawan to contest under the PDP have since left the party, living him (Dauda) to bear the consequences alone”.
He therefore called on Dare to return to APC and stop wasting his time, adding that “it is still not late”.
Marafa urged the people of the state to continue supporting the administration of Governor Bello Mattawalle so that they could reap more dividend of democracy in his second term.
“Governor Matawalle will surely move the state forward in his next tenure just like what happened in Kaduna where Governor El-Rufai did little during his first tenure but has done better in his second term”. Concluded Marafa.
