Zamfara CP leads patrol team to assess security situation on Gusau-Kaura-Namoda road

 Zamfara state police commissioner, CP Kolo Yusuf has on Tuesday led the Police Tactical Team to patrol the 63 Kilometer Gusau – Kaura Namoda road to in the state in order to reassure the public that the road was safe and secure.

In a statement, the spokesperson of the state police command SP Mohammed Shehu said this was in continuation of confidence building patrol embarked upon by the commissioner across the 14 local government areas of the state.

 Shehu stressed that in the course of the patrol, the Commissioner has visited Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda for security assessment of the institution with a view to strengthening the security architecture of the school in line with the Safe School Initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba.

While in the School, the Commissioner of Police was received by the Rector of the Polytechnic and other management staff, and later went round the school for security assessment and enhancement. 

The Commissioner of Police while interacting with the school management, urged them to be security concious and report suspicious movement to the police or other security agencies.

Kolo assured school management of the Police continuous commitment to protect lives and property of students and staff. 

In his remark, the Rector of the institution, commended the commissioner  and described the visit as timely as it will go along way in building confidence of students and staff. 

He promised to collaborate with the Police and other security agencies to ensure safety of the school.
