Yari urges politicians to eschew politics of bitterness, acrimony

Former Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari has called on politicians in the state to avoid politics of bitterness to enable the peaceful conduct of 2023 general elections.

The former Governor who spoke during the inauguration of APC campaign committees at JB Yakubu Secretariat in Gusau said, “Zamfara state which is facing security challenges does not need political violence”.

He advised politicians to play politics with sense of maturity and avoid anything that could jeopardize the security of the state.

The former Governor maintained that, the show of power or authority did not make one to be elected or to become a leader, stressing that “Only God gives power to whom he wants”.

“You cannot win election through violence or use of force. You can only win if you are ordained by God to be in whatever position you want to become”.

“I therefore appeal to all politicians in the state irrespective of their party affiliation to please play the game according to the rules”.

Yari who expressed optimism that the APC would sweep all positions from the President to the state house of Assembly members called on APC members to continue to be law-abiding.

“I am very optimistic that our party APC will win all the positions in the forthcoming general elections”.

“I want all APC members to come out en-masse to elect our candidates from the top to the bottom”.

“He called on the committee members to work hard for the success of all APC candidates.
