The Kadna state government has reiterated its determination to protect the right of persons with disabilities .
The state commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, Hajia hafsat Baba stated this during the occasion to mark international day of persons with disabilities held at Federal College of Education (FCE) Zaria
Hajia Hafsat explained that the present administration has signed into law the persons with disabilities Bill to abolish any form of discrimination across the state.
The commissioner represented by the director Kaduna state rehabilitation board Alhaji Aliyu Haruna Yakasai pointed out that the ministry of human services and social development had taking necessary measures to ensure proper arrangement is put in place to implement the persons with disabilities law.
He said the ministry has directed all institutions of learning to make adequate provision to accommodate persons with disabilities.
On his part, the Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli stressed the need for communities to always support persons with disabilities to improve their lives especially in the area of education.
The Emir represented by Sarkin Arewan Zazzau, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman expressed satisfaction over the efforts of the management of Federal college of education FCE Zaria in establishing the Non formal education department to educate persons with disabilities to make them useful in the society.
Also the Head of department Non formal education department Malam Musa Sambo Duguza called on the three tiers of government to formulate policies and programs that would abolish discrimination of persons with disabilities in the society.
The Federal College of Education FCE Zaria organized the occasion to mark international day of persons with disabilities to educate the non formal education students to do more to face global challenges.
