Gummi town, the headquarters of Gummi local government in Zamfara state was full to capacity as Governor Bello Matawalle and former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari led APC supporters in a rally for Matawalle’s second term in office.
It was a grand occasion, as thousands of APC supporters attended the rally to express their support and willingness to elect Governor Bello Matawalle for the second term.
The event was also attended by former Governor Mahmuda Aliyu Shinkafi and all former Deputy governors, Ministers, Speakers and Deputy Speakers as well as all APC stakeholders.
Governor Matawalle who was overwhelmed by the large turnout of APC supporters expressed optimism that all APC candidates would emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections.
He commended the party members and supporters for the massive turnout and assured them that he would not fail them if voted into power.
He particularly commended the APC stakeholders in Gummi local government for their grassroots mobilisation for the party.
Matawalle called on the people of the state to give him their mandate for a second term, assuring that he would embark on the execution of more projects.
“I urge you to vote for me and all other APC candidates from top to bottom”.
“I promise to do my best in terms of security, education, health as well as the general economy of the state”.
In his speech, former Governor Yari who is also the chairman of Matawalle’s second term campaign council, Yari thanked the people of Gummi local government for their support and loyalty to the party.
He stressed, that APC is still the strongest political party in the state, adding that the opposition had never won elections in the state in the past.
He also urged the people of the state to vote for Tinubu, Matawalle and the other party candidates .
