Unknown gunmen had stormed the residence of a former Kebbi South Senatorial Aspirant of the PDP, Asiya Aminu Abdullahi in Yauri and kinapped her and her brother-in-law.
The incidence took place yesterday when the victim and her relations were packing into her new apartment when four gunmen attacked them.
Her younger sister, Saratu who was at the scene said “we were in Asiya’s car parking into her new house when we heard a loud noise we were scared and came out of the car only to realise that it was gunshot that burst one of the tyres of the car.
Before we could close the gates four men appeared armed and asked of Asiya.”
“At that time we realized that we were in a mess. They ordered Asiya, my husband and I into their car and drove away.
They later abandoned the car and we took another one and after a while they dropped me and went away with her and my husband” Saratu. added
The kidnappers had demanded N25 million as ransome from the party stalwart and her brother-in-law Nura Yauri at a time when new naira notes were difficult to obtain.
The Police Public Relations Officer of Kebbi state police command SP Nafiu Abubakar comfirmed the incident adding that the Police Command was investigating the matter.
