Women have been identified as major contributors to the development and growth of any nation.
The Executive Director, Women Right Initiative a non governmental organization Dr. Lai’atu Bamaiyi stated this in a message to mark this year’s international women’s day.
Dr. Bamaiyi said that government needed to remove barriers so that women could actively access education to face global challenges.
She noted that training and empowering women would go a long way in creating a saner society, called on relevant authorities to ensure gender equality.
Dr. Bamaiyi while praying for successes for women taking part in the forthcoming elections, urged them to also seek for more elective positions in future elections.
She stressed the new for Nigerian women to come out and vote credible candidates that would produce positive changes among the society.
