The Zamfara state Governor-elect, Dauda Lawan Dare said he was on a rescue mission to save the state from total disintegration.

Addressing journalists during his first press conference, Lawan said, the state was currently in serious dilapidation stage and needed quick response to put it on the right track.

“Zamfara state is in dire need of someone who will save it from collapse because nothing is working at the moment”.

“I am on a rescue mission to the state and I will do my best to put things in order during my tenure”.

Lawan stressed that he would not witch-hunt anybody, calling on his supporters to maintain peace.

He also called on his supporters not to intimidate or harass anybody in the state.

He said, “God has given me the opportunity to become a Governor, as such I will not use my position to fight anybody”.

“If I do that, I am ungrateful to my creator”.
