The Zamfara State APC Presidential Campaign Coordinator, Senator Kabir Garba Marafa has expressed displeasure over the vandalisation and looting of APC properties by PDP supporters during the victory celebration of Dauda Lawan Dare as Governor-elect.
Senator Marafa who spoke to journalists after he visited the Tinubu Presidential Campaign offices and other APC offices in Gusau described the vandalisation and looting of APC properties as barbaric.
He said properties worth millions of Naira were damaged while others were carted away by PDP thugs during the celebration.
According to Marafa, the level of damage done by the hoodlums in three presidential campaign council offices in Gusau was totally barbaric.
According to him, the hoodlums made away with thousand bags of flour, maize and rice specifically stored at the Tinubu presidential campaign council office in Gusau (Asiwaju House) meant for assisting the Internally Displaced Persons, less privileged and other vulnerable people in the state.
Senator Marafa said, the hoodlums destroyed all the structures and carted away with items such as computers, refrigerators, air conditioners, furniture, electrical wires, windows, roofing sheets and doors to mention but few during the attack on the three presidential campaign office.
“As you can see, all our structures have been damaged and these thugs have stolen everything put in place in our presidential campaign council offices ranging from doors, windows, corrugated iron sheet, furnitures, computers, air-conditioners, as well as thousands of bags of flour, maize and rice meant for assisting the IDPs, less privileged and other vulnerable people in the state”.
He described the attack on the three presidential campaign council offices as madness and inhuman, calling on newly elected governor of the state Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare to do the needful.
” I expected that PDP who was declared winner of the Governorship election in Zamfara will exhibit sense of humor and maturity in controlling their youths but unfortunately they didn’t”.
“I also expected that after the damages done by their thugs, Dr. Dauda will issue a statement condemning the acts but he couldn’t do that”
According to him, already the matter have been reported to President elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies and other relevant authorities for necessary action.
He called on APC supporters particularly the youths not to take any revenge on the matter against PDP properties in the state for peace to reign.
He also called on all APC supporters to continue to be law abiding, concluding that, “If this trend should continue, Zamfara state will one day reduced to nothing”.
