BOBA: Gowon urges old boys to remain committed in nation building

Former head of state retired general Yakubu Gawon has called on Barewa College old Boys Association, (BOBA) to remain committed in contributing immensely to the development of the college.

General Yakubu gawon made the call during the annual general meeting of BOBA held at the college premises in Zaria.

The Former Head of state who is also the chairman, Board of Trustees of the association, stressed the need for all Barewa College old students to be ambassadors in all their human endeavours to face global challenges.

Gowon represented by Professor Saka Nuru prayed Allah to continue to guide the association to move the college to the greater hight.

In a speech the Special Guest of honour Kaduna state Governor Malam Nasiru Ahmad el-Rufai said he was very proud to be an old boy of the college.

The Governor charged members to do more to bring positive change in the college by executing developmental projects to reduce the hardship facing the college.

The Royal father of the day His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar 111 represented by the Emir of Kauru Alhaji Yau Usman assured BOBA members that he would remain committed to contributing to the development of the college at all times.

Sultan Saad Abubakar expressed appreciation to various groups and individuals for their wonderful intervention in the college.

Earlier speaking, the National President of BOBA Engineer Dahiru Ibrahim said the association has recorded tremendous achievements in the college and across the Nation.

Barewa College has produced five Presidents
that ruled the country and recorded tremendous achievements to the nation.
