Kaduna state government has reiterated its determination to improve socio-economic development of rural communities.
Director agric mechanization, Kaduna state ministry of agriculture, Alhaji Abdullahi ALIYU MUSA stated this during the commissioning of 100 tones cold facility at Danmagaji central market Zaria.
Alhaji Abdullahi aliyu explained that Kaduna state government has always offered enabling environment to investors to improve socio-economic development of rural people.
The director charged the benefiting communities to utilize the cold facility to reduced lost of tomatoes and related commodities.
In a remarks the Chief executive officer cold Hubs a nongovernmental organization Mr. Nnaemeka Ikegwuonu said the cold facility constructed at Danmagaji central market is a partnership between the Cold Hubs and HEIFER International to reduce lost of tomatoes among tomato and vegetables traders.
Mr Nnaemeka Ikegwuonu explained that the cold facility will accommodate five thousand crate of tomatoes every day .
He described Zaria as tomatoes Triangle zones and the cold facility would reduce the lost of commodity at the market.
In an addressed the HEIFER International country Director Mr Rufus Idris pointed out that the organization believe in supporting Authorities to improve food security.
Mr ,Rufus Idris called on stakeholders to utilize the cold facility to save more commodities not only tomatoes .
In a message the Kaduna state chairman council of chief Emir of Zazzau Malam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli represented by Sarkin Yakin Zazzau Alhaji yahaya pate commended the efforts of cold Hubs and their partners for finding lasting solution to tomato Traders and Dealers by executing the cold facility to reduce lost of vegetables and related commodities.
In their responses the national chairman Basket and tomato Dealers in Nigeria and Secretary General of Danmagaji central market association Malam Umar Kasim expressed happiness that the cold facility would reduce the cost of storing tomatoes among it’s traders.
The one hundred tones cold facility would accommodate five thousand crates of tomatoes, fish, milk,meat and vegetables.
