Governor Lawal Dare promises to fix Zamfara despite empty treasury he inherited from Matawalle

Governor Dr Dauda Lawal Dare of Zamfara state has assured the people of the state that he would do his best to move the state to a greater hight despite the empty treasury he inherited from his predicessor Bello Mattawalle.

Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare made the plea during a phone in program at Vision FM radio Gusau on Tuesday.

The Governor maintained that the state was completely grounded lamenting that, nothing is currently working in the state.

He expressed disgust over the way and manner how the former administration of Governor Bello Mattawalle looted the government’s treasury and carted away with many vehicles and other valuable items.

Dr Dauda Lawal Dare said the former Governor did not leave anything in the treasury and also left huge debts running into billions of Naira.

 The former Governor has carted away with 14 vehicles, while his deputy Hassan Nasiha also took away many of the vehicles.

The Governor wondered how the administration of former Governor Bello Mattawalle also removed most of the air conditioners, fridges and even chairs in the government house.

He said that he made the treasury empty while there are bag log of liabilities he inherited calling on the people of the state to exercise patience and continue praying for him to deliver the state to the greater hight.

The Governor stated that he has already started making consultations both within and outside the country on how to fix the state on a proper way for rapid development.

Dr. Lawal Dare told the people of the state that, his administration would put more attention on security, education and job creation for the teeming youths and women who have been rendered useless by the former administration.

Dr Dauda assured the students that his administration would revive the education sector which was neglected by the previous administration, adding that the issue of none payment of WAEC and NECO fees would be a thing of the past.

He expressed disgust that, the students from the state would not write both WAEC and NECO this year because the former administration did not pay for the fees and it was too late to do so now as the exams have already started. 

He also assured women that, his administration would soon come up with so many welfare packages and skills acquisition programs to enable them become self-reliant.

He said he would put more effort to end the lingering insecurity challenges affecting the state so that farmers would get the opportunity to go about their farms during this year’s raining season.

He called on the people of the state to continue praying for him and supporting his administration so as to enable him to deliver to the expectation of everybody.
