Zamfara gov swears in 18 commissioners, tasks them to shun corrupt practices

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara state has on Tuesday sworn in 18 commissioners with two women, Dr. Aisha MZ Anka and Dr. Nafisa Mohammed as commissioners of health and women affairs respectively.

The oath of office was administered by the state Chief Judge, Justice Mrs  Kulu Aliyu at Government House Gusau. 

In his speech at the occasion, Governor Lawal implored the new cabinet members to shun corrupt practices, adding that, “You cannot afford to disappoint Zamfara residents who are yearning for positive change”.

The Governor stressed that his administration must work extract hard to ensure speedy growth and development of the state which has been groping in the dark for many years.

He said, “As the new cabinet members, you must prepare for the challenges ahead”.

“You should also see your appointments as a unique privilege and a call to service”.

Those sworn in are, Malam Wadatau Madawaki as Ministry of education, Garba Yandi, Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Suleiman Adamu Gummi Religious Affairs, Abdurrahman Tunbido Trade and Industries and Lawal Barau Bungudu, Works.

Others are, Kabiru Moyi, Housing and Town Planning, Mannir Haidara, Information and Culture, Captain Bala Mairiga, Security and Home Affairs, Abdul Aziz Sani (SAN)’ Justice and Mahmud Mohammed, Environment and Solid Minerals.

The rest are, Ya,u Haruna, Agriculture, Nasiru Ibrahim, Office of the Governor, Salisu Musa Tsafe, office of the Deputy Governor and Bello Auta Finance.
