Abdul Aziz revealed this while addressing Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi shortly after assessing the extent of damage at the Power Substation which left the two transformers, 60MVA and 90MVA, destroyed in an inferno that broke out at midnight on Thursday.

He pointed out that the damage that threw consumers into total darkness were the ones supplying electricity to both Sokoto and Kebbi States as well as some parts of Zamfara State adding that the Company would work round the clock to source funds to buy and install new transformers to restore power supply to consumers.

Abdulazeez however said temporary measures would be taken to provide electricity to Sokoto State from Talata Mafara Power Substation in Zamfara State within the next three days from where the supply would be extended to Kebbi State.

He said the Company Engineers had started opening the substation cable trenches with a view to connecting the idle transformer that hitherto served Niger Republic in order to restore permanent power supply to Kebbi State within two weeks

The Managing Director however called on consumers to exercise patience as the Company would not let them down, noting that every passing minute without electricity supply to the public was not only a loss to them but to the company as well
