The Federal Government has handed over 40 Housing Units to victims of banditry activities in Zamfara State.
The Minister was in Zamfara state to carry out several humanitarian Interventions, among which were the handing over of 40 housing units to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, distribution of relief materials, clean up of the social register and visit to the Federal University in Gusau to console with them over the abduction of 25 female students recently.
She called on the international community to join forces with President Tinubu-led- Federal Government in collaboration with the Zamfara State Government to adequately address the humanitarian crisis in Zamfara.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu who handed over the housing units to the beneficiaries said this was part of Tinubu’s Renew Hope agenda to provide succor to vulnerable Nigerians.
She assured Nigerians that the Tinubu administration way committed to ensuring it rescued the 12 remaining abducted students and improved security in tertiary institutions across the country.

In his speech, Governor Dauda Lawal noted that before his administration took over power, banditry activities were prevalent which resulted in the loss of thousands of lives collapsed agriculture, destroyed livelihood, and vast space of the rural territories were effectively controlled by bandits.
The Governor thanked the Tinubu-led Federal Government for the humanitarian interventions and asked for more interventions, especially the housing scheme for victims of banditry in Zamfara North and Western Senatorial Districts of the State.
