Fed Fire Service To Partner With Stakeholders In Disaster Management

The Federal Fire Service (zone B) Kaduna command has reiterated its determination to partner with relevant authorities and communities in disaster management. 

The Commandant, Kaduna state command,  Malam Sadiq Muhammad Mahmud disclosed this during a town hall meeting held in Sabon Gari local government area of Kaduna state.

The commandant explained that from January to date 123 people lost their lives in Zaria, while 102 people got serious degrees of injuries. 

He added that N1.2 billion worth of properties were destroyed and about N2 billion were saved within Zaria and its environs.

In an interview, a specialist on disaster management Professor Ibrahim Musa Jaro of ABU Zaria called on the National Assembly to enact laws to amalgamate all military and paramilitary personal in desaster management.

 Professor Jaro said, fire fighters were facing challenges while discharging their duty whenever there was fire outbreak within the communities . 

Also speaking the the commandant Federal Fire Service zone B Kaduna Zaria area command, CSF Aminu Amadu said the town hall meeting was an avenue to educate the public on prevention and disaster management. 

CSF Amadu explained that disaster management and prevention was the responsibility of every citizen and hoped for a zero society fire out break in future. 

He commanded the relationship with the Emirate council especially the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli for his continued support to the command.

 The town hall lectures and interactive session were attended by academia, students, and other stakeholders on disaster management as well as security operatives consisted of the military and paramilitary.
