Bandits in kwalfada village of Tsafe local government area in Zamfara state have killed a father of a young girl for refusing to marry off his daughter to their colleague.
An indigene of the village Malam Rabo informed Analyzer news that, one of the bandits proposed a marriage to one of the girls in the village but her father refused to marry off his daughter to him.
The father, according to Rabo decided to marry off his daughter to one of the people in the village instead of giving her to a bandit.
Rabo further explained that, “After the marriage was contracted, the bandits invaded the community and killed the father of the girl”.
“They also asked the husband of the girl to divorce her so that their colleague could marry her”.
“They threatened to kill the husband if he did not comply with the directive”.
“The husband immediately divorced the wife and she was remarried to the bandit who took her to the forest”.
Rabo lamented that, the bandits have been terrorizing the community for a long period of time and no action was taken by the authority to provide security to the inhabitants.
He maintained that, they have been imposing levy on the people of the village, stressing that, “Few weeks ago we were made to pay N4 million”.
“We had to sell off our food items and other valuables before we could raise the amount”. Concluded Rabo.
The police have yet to respond to this sad development.
