XMAS, NEW YEAR: Zamfara police deploy security for hitch free celebrations

The Zamfara state police command has made adequate arrangements to ensure security of lives and properties during the forthcoming Christmas, boxing day and new year celebrations.

The state’s commissioner of Police, Mohammed Shehu Dalijan charged all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Command Tactical teams to provide security coverage in all worshipping centres in the state.

In a statement, the spokesperson of the command ASP Yazid Abubakar said the deployment of the security personnel was aimed at ensuring hitch free celebrations in the state.

The statement reads in parts as follows:

“In view of the forthcoming Christmas, boxing day and new year celebrations, the Commissioner of Police, Cp Muhammad Shehu Dalijan deployed massively in all nooks and crannies  to ensure hitch free celebrations in the state”.

“The Commissioner of Police directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Command’s tactical teams to ensure security coverage in all public places, recreational center, amusement parks and most importantly worshipping centers in the State”.

”He also charged the officers and men of the Command to strictly adhere and enforce the operational order drawn for the season”.

The commissioner further charged the police to ensure professionalism and high visibility policing across the highways so as to protect lives and properties of citizenry before, during and after festive period.

The state police command extended warm wishes to the Christians faithfuls in the state.

 It also reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and properties of good people of the state both during and after the celebrations.
