The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Muhammad Shehu Dalijan has led the operatives of the Command’s tactical teams, Police Divisions, and other Sister security agencies in the State on a confidence-building patrol and operation show of force within Gusau metro.
In a statement, the public relations Officer of the state command, ASP Yazid Abubakar said the aimed of the exercise was to ensure strict compliance in providing an enabling environment for the forthcoming Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year celebrations.
Abubakar said, “The show of force exercise across the length and breadth of the State is to build the confidence of the citizens and assure the readiness of the Command in collaboration with other Sister security agencies to ensure the lives and properties of the citizens are highly protected before, and during and after the festive season”.
He stressed that the exercise also served to deter all criminal elements from engaging in any forms of violence in the State.
The PPRO further stressed that the Commissioner of Police has charged Area Commanders, DPOs, and tactical Commanders to align with the policing mission and vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olikayode Abdeolu Egbetokun.
”They should ensure that officers and men of confidence-building patrol and Show of force discharge their duty with professionalism and respect for the fundamental human right of the good people of the State.
The commissioner of police warned that, any form of unprofessionalism during the exercise should not be tolerated.
However, CP MD Shehu assured the good people of the State especially the Christian faithfuls of hitch free festive season in the state and wish them happy Christmas, boxing day, and New Year in advance.
