The Sokoto Cultural Troupe – the showcasers of the rich culture of the seat of the Caliphate, has visited the Kebbi State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK in his office in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

The Troupe was on a cultural engagement and
performance in Birnin Kebbi when they felt the need to pay the visit as a mark of respect for the culture family in Kebbi state, and to further cement the brotherhood and cultural affinity between them.

Mohammed Sani, who led the group said their visit to the Commissioner was intentional and deliberate, explaining that both Kebbi and Sokoto states share affinities which the colonialists found difficult to break until today. He extended their regard to the people of Kebbi state and called for closer cooperation between the states.

Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK who expressed gratitude for the visit said the two states have been one big family all through history, saying that the union will outdate and outlive the artificialities of colonialism.

He welcomed the troupe to Kebbi state and asked them not to hesitate to reach out to him if they need any assistance to make their stay worthwhile.
