The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the death of late Ambassador Muhammad Z. Anka as a great loss to Zamfara state in particular, Nigeria and the entire world.
This was contained in a statement by the state’s Publicity secretary of the party, Alhaji Yusuf Idris and made available to Analyzer news on Saturday.
Idris said, the APC has received the news of the sudden demise of late Anka with great shock and prayed to Allah to grant him an internal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Idris said, “The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC received the sad news of the passing of an elder statesman, Ambassador Muhammad Z Anka in Sokoto as a result of a brief illness”.
“On behalf of the entire members of the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC, the Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani wishes to extend his condolences to the immediate and extended family members of the late Muhammad Z.Anka”
Danfulani described late Anka as a wise politician and gentleman.
“The deceased who was Nigeria’s one-time ambassador to Libya, has left a lasting legacy in the history of our dear state”.
”Late Anka was a People’s Democratic Party PDP Gubernatorial Candidate at the begining of civilian regime in 1998 in Zamfara State”.
The APC chairman stressed that the deceased would be strongly remembered for his significant contributions to the creation of Zamfara State out of the old Sokoto state in 1996, after which he ventured into the state’s governorship race under the PDP but lost to the APP in kick-starting civilian administration in Zamfara.
He said maintained that MZ Anka was an elder statesman whose contributions to the development of Zamfara and the old Sokoto states will remain indelible in the minds of many citizens of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole.
“His boldness and fearless nature of telling the truth was quite unique, which earned him much respect among his peers”.
The APC prayed Almighty Allah to reward his soul will Jannaatu Firdausi and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Late Muhammad Z Anka who died at the age of 81 years, left behind two wives, 13 children and many grandchildren.
Until his death, late Ambassador Muhammad Z Anka was the Magajin Garin Anka who also passed through Sokoto Middle School and the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in his educational career.
