The Kebbi State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abubakar Sarkin Fawa Dambo has embarked on inspection of BVAS configuration ahead of the bye elections schedulled for the Fifth of next month.
INEC Head of Publicity and Voters Education in Kebbi State, Muhammed Rabiu said the exercise which started this week at the State Office in Birnin Kebbi was to ensure that the BVAS were in good shape and were well prepared for the February bye elections in the state.
He said the new REC who resumed office In December last year had personally inspected and interacted with the technicians handling the BIVAS configuration to see that there were no disapointments arising from failure of the BIVAS during the electoons.
He said “the REC in his usual magnanimity and feeling proud of the work done by the technicians personally compensated them.
“With this development, it’s no doubt that INEC is ready for the February bye elections in kebbi State to be conducted in the Yauri-Shanga-Federal Constituency as well as Arewa-Dandi Federal Constituency”.
