Kebbi NIS to revive divisional offices for optimum performance, intelligence gathering

The new Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service Kebbi state Command, Saidu Mohammed Sabo has promised to revive the divisional offices in the 21 local government areas of the state to ensure effective performance and intelligence gathering.

The Comptroller who stated this while speaking with newsmen on assumption of office in Birnin Kebbi, further stated that the reopening of divisional offices would give the Command the opportunity to obtain relevant information for administrative and security purposes taking into consideration the challenges the country was passing through.

He maintained that, the Divisional Officers to man the posts would be selected amongst the locals in order to ease intelligence gathering which in turn would be shared to sister security agencies in the state.

He stressed that foreign nationals would be subjected to live peacefully according to the laws of the land as well as ECOWAS Treaty.

Having once served as Passport Officer, the Comptroller admitted that he was familiar with the terrains of the state, as such he would use his experience to ensure that leakages at the borders where human trafficking, cross country criminal activities and illegal entries and exits were efficiently blocked.

On the issue of obtaining travelling passport the Comptroller said “The Immigration Service has Just introduced the newly automated process enriching the process of obtaining Passport where applicants would use the NIS website to do the necessary documentation at the comforts of their homes only to present themselves to the office for biometrics”.

Comptroller Sabo while assuring the public of a harmonious working relationship urged the officers and men to live up to their responsibilities by discharging their duties in order to earn the trust of the communities they were working with.
