Kebbi Govt to subsidize irrigation farming with free fuel, implements

Kebbi State Government has stepped up practical measures to protect farming and increase production with the plans to provide fuel to irrigation farmers due to the sourring cost of petroleum products being used to power irrigation pumps.

Governor Nasir Idris disclosed this on Saturday at a political gathering in Shanga town, marking the commencement of campaign rallies by APC for the February 3rd bye election of Yauri-Shanga-Ngaski Federal Constituency.

Governor Nasir Idris said already, the state government had flagged off the distribution of solar powered irrigation pumps totalling twelve thousand to farmers and would back the effort with the distribution of Twenty Five Thousand units of CNG powered pumps for maximum production.

The state Chief Executive said as part of his Administration’s Five Point Agenda, designated Fuel stations would be utilized to achieve the set objective, pointing out that other sectors of the economy would be taken care of in order to facilitate statewide development.

While presenting the APC flag to the party’s candidate, Garba Umar Uba (Bullet), Governor Idris thanked the people of the area for their support to hi administration and urged them to turn out enmas and vote APC into office.

In his remarks, the State Party Chairman, Abubakar Kana Zuru, thanked the people of the area for the warm reception and reminded them that the seat to be contested for belonged to APC.

He said “Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, a member of the Federal Executive Council was once the occupant of the seat, as such the party faithfulss must work hard to retain it come February 3.

The flag bearer, Garba Bullet told the gathering he would remain a faithful member of the party and would use his listening ear to respond to the yearnings and aspirations of the people he would represent at the National Assembly
