Kebbi Govt terminates appointment of Sauwa District Head, suspends Gulma

The Kebbi State Government, has terminated the appointment of District Head of Sauwa, Alhaji Muhammad Tajudden-Sauwa and placed a six months suspension on District Head of Guluma, Alhaji Muhammad Bashir-Guluma.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Chairman Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Mansir Shehu and made available to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.

He said that the termination and suspension of the two district heads were in line with the Public Services Rule (PSR) 030301(0) which centered around serious act of misconduct.

He said: “The termination and suspension of the two district heads of Sauwa and Guluma in Arugungu Local Government is as a result of a committee’s report constituted to investigate them.

“After the committee’s investigation, they were founded guilty. Meanwhile, the termination and suspension took effect from 29th February, 2024”.he said.

Shehu explained that on 31st January, 2024, a committee of enquiry was set up to investigate the allegations presented by Arugungu local government council.

This, according to him, necessitated the establishment of the committee, which swung onto action immediately, adding that their report shows that the two affected district heads were found guilty.

He said for district head of Sauwa, he was found with consistent acts of insubordination, while for that of Guluma was only found with a mild insubordination and his salary would be on hold for six months.

“For the District Head of Guluma, Alhaji Muhammad Bashar-Guluma, the commission considered and approved a lesser penalty of six months suspension and stopped his salary for six months for an act of insubordination as the committee found him guilty of committing,” he added.
