Philanthropist Empowers 500 Women With Cash In Kebbi

A philanthropist and Permanent Member 1 with the Kebbi State Universal Basic Education Board (KBSUBEB) , Hon Umar Maigandi Garima has disbursed N20,000 to 500 Women in Dakingari, headquarters of Suru local government area of the State.


While speaking with Journalists in his office in Birnin Kebbi, Hon. Umar Garima said the gesture is to empower the benefitting women to enhance their daily businesses in the area.


According to him, the aim of the empowerment program is to join hands with governor, Nasir Idris in improving the living standard of people particularly women in Suru local government considering the month of Ramadan is approaching.


” This package was doles out from my pocket in order to collaborate with governor, Nasir Idris programs of alleviating poverty and suffering among the people in rural areas of the state ” Garima said.


This gesture was also meant to assist petty traders especially women to enhance their businesses just like how governor, Nasir Idris doing for the people of Kebbi State ” he added.


The disbursement ceremony was attended by the wife of the state governor, Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris who commended the efforts of the Member and pylantropist and urged other well-to-do individuals to emulate him.


He called on the beneficiaries to use the gesture to the purpose of what was given for.
