The Welfare Secretary of the All Progressives Party (APC) Zamfara state chapter, Alhaji Bashir Idris Ataka has commended the stakeholders of the party for the welfare packages they have been given to the memebers of the party during the Ramadan fast.
In a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau on Monday, Alhaji Bashir maintained that, the efforts of the Defence Minister, Bello Mattawalle, Senator Abdul Aziz Yari, former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, Honourable Zubairu Abdul Malik, Honourable Sani Jaji and Alhaji Muktar Shehu were highly commendable considering the number of people who benefited from their welfare packages during the period.
The statement reads in parts as follows:-
“On behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Working Committee, Exco and Members under the able leadership of Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, I write to appreciate the continued efforts of our party leaders in Zamfara for always having the people of the state at heart as their top priority when it comes to welfare packages especially as many people are faced with terrible economic hardship”.
“Specifically, the combination of the party leader and immediate past governor of the state and Minister of State for Defence, Hon. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, former governor and distinguished Senator Abdulaziz Yari abubakar, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, Right Hon. Sani Jaji Hon. Muktar Shehu Idris and Hon. Abdulmalik Zannan Bungudu, both of the national assembly, cannot be quantified”.
“These gentlemen have never relented in supporting both APC and non-APC members in the state at all times, the latest of which is the distribution of overwhelming tons of assorted grains and money to cushion the effects of the current hardships particularly during this Holy Month of Ramadan”.
“I want to register our profound appreciation over these gestures, which cut across party lines and extend to the poor as well as orphans in our beloved state”.
“We are aware that more is coming, especially ahead of the Eid-El-Fitr festivities”.
“We shall continue to support the leaders and elders of thought in their drive to the unity, development, growth, and welfare of the state and the people”.
“We urge all the well to do individuals and groups in the state to emulate these five great leaders so that we can together disgrace poverty in our midsts”.
“We also pray Allah to accept their good intentions and pave more halal ways for them to help others”.
