Governor Nasir Idris of kebbi state was in Wasagu town, the headquarters of Danko Wasagu Local Government Area of the state last Friday to condole with the family and people of Wasagu over the death of a political stalwart and businessman, in the area, late Hon Junaidu Dahiru Wasagu.
In a statement, the Special Adviser to Governor Idris on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yahya Sarki said late Junaidu Dahiru Wasagu died recently following a protracted illness.
The Governor, accompanied by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, the Secretary to the state government, Head of Service, Commissioners, Special Advisers and politicians was received by the Chief of Wasagu Chiefdom, Alhaji Muktar Musa Wasagu and family members of the deceased.
The Governor, in an emotional voice described the death of Junaidu Wasagu as a collossal loss not only to Wasagu Chiefdom but also to the state as a whole.
The governor eulogised the deceased as a reliable and trusted politician who was very dear to him.
He prayed Allah, the Almighty to forgive him and give his family the the courage to bear the loss.
The Chief of Wasagu Chiefdom, Alhaji Musa Wasagu appreciated the Governor for the visit.
He said even though the death of the political icon was shocking, death was inevitable destined by God.
