The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said it has uncovered a plot by some of its members to float a new party in order to sabotage the APC’s chance of winning the 2027 general elections.
The party therefore warned that it would take drastic action against those members for peace to reign in the party.
In a statement, the state’s APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris said, the party has discovered that some members with the party were planning to flot a new party in order to weaken the APC ahead of 2027 general elections.
He accused Honorable Sani Jaji and his supporters of creating a faction within the APC in order to destabilize it and find a way of joining another party.
He said, “Just last Wednesday, some few individuals led by the Zonal vice chairman of Zamfara West Hon. Isiyaka Ajiya Anka and four other officials out of the 36 executive members of the party in the state addressed a press conference, claiming to have taken over as the leaders of the party without recourse to the party constitution”.
“We are aware that the action and activities of this group of mischief makers is part of a grand plan to break the ranks of the APC and its good chances of continuity from the national level down to the states”.
“They took over a paint selling shop and embarrassingly referred to it as their state APC secretariat and were inaugurated by a floor member of the party Aliyu Abubakar MC former Tsafe Local Chairman who never held nor is holding any position in the party at any level from ward up to the national”.
“As they plan to hatch another plan ahead of the 2027 elections, they should be informed that we are fully ready for them and the party they intend to float, which can certainly not match the APC”.
“We will break their every move as long as they try to impair, overindulge, or mollycoddle the APC”.
The Presidency and the National Secretariat of our great party are aware of these people who had plotted and failed both in the 2019 and 2023 elections”.
Idris further explained that, the state chapter of the APC has remained intact and peaceful while enjoying the goodwill of its leaders and the good people of the state.
Idris warned that the flagrant abuse of the party by any member could no longer be condoned.
He said, the APC under the chairmanship of Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani in the state and the leadership of the Hon. Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle would not allow these agents of destruction to spoil the good image of the party.
