The chairman, Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC ), Alhaji Tukur Danfulani Maikatako has cautioned the people of the state against participating in the planned nationwide protest.

In a statement, Danfulani said the protest could be  hijacked by hoodlums and worthen the security situation in the state.

He maitained that he was at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja where he attended a meeting between state executives of the party from all the 36 states of the federation and Abuja.

He said that the meeting was attended by the National Working Committee members and chaired by the National  Chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje over the impending protest.

He stressed that he found it imperative to  call on the people of the state not to participate in the protest due to the insecurity situation bedevilling Zamfara state and the nation in general.

He said, “There is the likelihood of criminals who have continued to make life highly unbearable to the people taking over the protest and making the security situation worse”

“So let us think wisely to avoid wanton destruction of our country in the name of protest because most of the countries that carried out such protests in the past, are now experiencing more difficulties than what caused the protest”.

The chairman cited an exact with Sudan where the people protested for the hike of bread, lamenting that “The price they are now buying bread is five times the cost before  the protest.

“A lot of citizens’ properties, government infrastructures, businesses, health facilities were all destroyed with many people homeless and turned refugees within their country and its neighbours.

“The same thing in Libya, Syria, and most current one in Kenya so let’s resolve our grievances through negotiation and dialogue because no country will progress through protest that will lead to anarchy if highjacked by hoodlums”.

The chairman stated that the protest was an expression of citizens’ constitutional rights if all channels of amicable resolution of the problem were  exhausted.

“As Muslims, Islam abhors protests and for the fear that no one can tell the extent of damage such protests could cause, it is better to find other avenues of settlement”.

“Our  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a listening leader who is doing his best to make Nigeria a better place to all”.

‘He is the only president that took the Nigeria governors to supreme court in order to ensure that government at the grassroots is fully functioning which I believe with local government areas having full autonomy, issues of unemployment, insecurity, hardship and other criminalities will become history in the country”.

He urged all Nigerians to support President Tinubu through goodwill and prayers for the benefit of the future generations.

“We are civilised people”.

“We should not be instigated by the enemies of our country who are abroad enjoying with their families and cannot even come near the protest venues but can only watch and comment on social media”.He concluded.
