Media aide Tasks kebbi Radio, TV stations on adequate publicity for Gov Nasir Idris

The Special Adviser to kebbi State Governor on communication and Strategy, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Zuru has charged the state owned Radio and Television stations (Kebbi Television and Kebbi Radio) to justify the expenses incurred on them by the state government in rejuvenating the stations for efficient service delivery.

He gave the charge when he paid familiarization visit to the two stations as part of his efforts to ensure adequate coverage of kebbi state governments activities and programs.

Alhaji Abdullahi advised them to improve on their present performance and workout comprehensive arrangements that would ensure sustainable reportage of the developments being achieved by Governor Nasir Idris’s administration.

He reminded the management of both the government and privately owned media organisation based in the state, the need for supporting Comrade Kaura’s administration to succeed in the execution of its developmental policies and programmes.


He started that Governor Idris is media friendly and conscious of the value of the media in the promotion of democratic governance.

In addition, he also appreciates the contributions being made towards ensuring peaceful coexistence and sustainable socio-economic development in the country.


Alh. Zuru further explained that it was based on the conviction of the Governor’s in the importance of the role of the media that he graciously approved the gradual total overhaul of the state’s own media organisation.


Accordingly, the state Ministry of Information and Culture has started the implementation of the Governor’s media organisation reform programme with the provision of the state of the art equipment for Kebbi State Television and Radio Stations for effective service delivery as against the skeletal services being experienced over the years.


The Special Adviser declared that ” On his part, Kauran Gwandu is evidently working, on your part we have to be following him bumper to bumper in order to consistently keep the public informed of the steady progress being achieved by the administration “.


He maintained that in view of the remarkable support of Governor Nasir Kauran Gwandu to the state’s own two media organisations have no reason not to justify the expenses, therefore expected to closely monitor and consistently keep the people informed of the steady progress being achieved in all sectors of development.


The familiarisation visits also took the Adviser to the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Birnin Kebbi and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Equity FM, Birnin Kebbi
He solicited for the support of the media organisations to Kauran Gwandu’s administration by complementing the efforts of the state own media outfits in informing the public about the giant strides being made in turning around the socio-economic and political fortunes of Kebbi State.


At the State Television, the General Manager Aminu Sani Kamba assured of the management preparedness of justifying the expenditure.


His counterpart at NTA, Babangida Layya and Umar Balarabe of FRCN , also requested for the Kebbi State government’s intervention by assisting them with solutions for their logistics and infrastructure challenges, particularly power supply, mobility and working facilities among others.
