Considering the dilapidating nature of healthcare facilities inherited by Governor Dauda Lawal from the previous administrations, the Zamfara state government has reiterated its commitments to ensure the total overhauling of all healthcare facilities across the state.
This was stated by the Director-General Media and Communications to Gov Dauda Lawal, Malam Nuhu Anka while inspecting some ongoing health facility projects across the state together with a team of working journalists in uthe state.
Anka who was accompanied by both the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Broadcast Media and that of Social Media, Mustafa Jafaru Kaura and Mugira Yusuf respectively said, the state government under the leadership of Dauda Lawal was committed in ensuring that the healthcare facilities were improved to the standard to cater for the need of ordinary people of the state.
The Director General inspected the ongoing remodeling and equipping projects at Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau.
Other places visited during the tour included King Fahad Hospital Gusau and Farida General Hospital Gusau.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the inspection tour, the Director General stressed that the State government embarked on total renovation and upgrading of healthcare facilities across the state in order to enable the people of the state to stop going out of the state for medical treatment.
Anka stressed that the action was in accordance with the state government’s declaration of emergency on health sector.
He maintained that, Gov Dauda Lawal has earlier this year declared a state of emergency on the health sector with a commitment to revamping the state’s healthcare system.
He said, As you are aware, following the declaration of the state of emergency, the state government will improve standard of all healthcare facilities through massive infrastructural development”.
According to him, Governor Lawal would ensure the supply of all the necessary equipment and essential medicines to all the healthcare centers in the state.f
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of various projects inspected and urged contractors to comply contractual agreement.
“I commend the effort of contractors for ensuring quality and standard project.
“Though, I am not a professional in building an youd engineering professions, but based on what I have seen today, I am very satisfied.
“The quality of jobs from the three facilities we have visited so far are commendable,” he explained.
The Director General also called on the contractors to justify the public funds given to them for the projects,”.
He noted that the state Government under Gov Dauda Lawal under its rescue mission policy committed to provide more dividend of democracy to the people of the state.
“I am appealing to good people of Zamfara to continue pray for the present administration to restore sustainable peace and stability in the state,”.
The contractors handling the renovation projects assured that they would execute the projects to the best of their abilities and according to job specification.
