The Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar has commended the efforts of Operation Fansan Yamma in the fight against banditry.
He however ordered them to immediately arrest notorious bandits’ leader Bello Turji.
The Minister gave the charge in Gusau the Zamfara state capital on Thursday while addressing the troops at the One Brigade Headquarters.
He was in the state to take briefings on the ongoing military operations.
He said President Bola Tinubu was pleased with the achievements so far recorded by the troops in the fight against banditry within the last few months.
He said, “President Bola Tinubu has seen some levels of improvement in the operation against terrorists in the region within the last few months”.
The Minister however maintained that, there were still challenges because the bandits were still terrorizing the people of the region.
Abubakar told the troops that, President Tinubu has promised to provide all necessary assistance for the fight against the bandits in the country, urging the troops to redouble efforts.
“President Tinubu asked me to thank you and also urge you to do more to end insecurity in these areas of operation in the country”.
“He is ready to provide all you need to end insecurity in the Northwest and Nigeria.”
“Are you ready to finish with them”?
“Are you ready to end banditry in the country?”
“Please get me Turji dead or live”.
The Minister was received by the Commander, Joint Taskforce Northwest Operation Fansar Yamma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele and the Deputy Governor of the state, Malam Mani Mummuni.
