Zamfara 2025 budget designed for renewed hope agenda of Gov Lawal, Says Gajam

In its effort to improve the living standards of the people of the state,  the Zamfara state government under the ministry of budget and Economic planning has organized a stakeholders meeting on 2025 budget.

The meeting was also aimed at providing comprehensive plan for the future of the state.

The meeting  was held on Saturday at JB Yakubu Secretariat in Gusau, the state capital on Saturday.

The state’s commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, Hon Abdul Malik Abubakar Gajam who doubled as the State’s chairman of the Economic Planning committee stressed that, the 2025 budget was designed for the new Zamfara on the renewed hope agenda of the present administration of Governor Dauda Lawal.

Gajam explained that the 2025 budget stakeholders town hall meeting was to  ensure that the budget was directly used to better the living standards of the people in the state.

He said, “This 2025 budget stakeholders meeting was designed to provide comprehensive plan for better future and new Zamfara state”.

According to him, in 2025 budget, the sum of four N426 billion  was proposed which was higher than that of last year in the state.

” There was an increase on revenue  generation performance this year as leakages were blocked”. Said the commissioner.

Gajam stressed that the Zamfara state books on budget were promising and were designed to completely change the narrative for better future of the people in the state.

He further revealed that on capital development, there was an increased growth compared to previous administrations 

He maintained that a number of projects in  primary healthcare and education sector were currently under massive reconstruction and renovations in the state.

” You can recall that recently a state of emergency was declared on education and health sectors in the state”.

The commissioner emphasized that, it’s time now for the present administration of Governor Lawal to focus on positive change.

“It is time now for the administration of Governor Lawal to displace sense of accountability and prudent management of the state’s scarce resources”.

In their remarks, the Emirs of Zamfara who spoke through the chairman of the state council of chiefs, His royal highness the Emir of Anka Alhaji Attahiru Mohammed Anka noticed and appreciated the state Government’s due process while implementing the 2024 budget in the state.

He further appreciated the efforts of Governor Lawal for his proactive measures on the payment of pensions and gratuity in the state.
