The Minister of State Defence, Honourable Bello Matawalle commended the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the fight against banditry, calling on all Nigerians to support his administration.
Matawalle also applauded the effort of the President in building the new Nigeria through his policies and programs.
Addressing thousands of APC supporters in his resident in Gusau, Matawalle drew the attention of Nigerians particularly the northerners to understand that, President Tinubu inherited a collapsed economy, as such, he must be supported to save the nation from disintegration.
“I want to appeal to all Nigerians, particularly the northerners to give their maximum support and cooperation to President Tinubu’s policies and programs aimed at moving the country forward”.
“You are all aware of how he met the country when he took over the mantle of leadership”.
”I urge you to continue supporting his administration for him to succeed because he has a good blueprint for the country”.
He stressed that, the roads construction embarked upon by the President in the North was worthy of commendation by the people of the region.
“The construction of Zaria-Sokoto road and Illela-Badagry road is one of the projects currently being carried out by Tinubu administration”.
“The lifting of ban on mining is another effort of Mr President to develop the north”.
“He has listening ears and is always ready to accept correction”.
“I personally appealed to Mr President to lift the ban on mining which was stopped during the administration of former President Buhari and he graciously approved”.
“We will do our best to help our people to get mining licenses so that they will have something to fend for themselves”.
On the fight against banditry, Matawalle said, the President has directed for the deployment of aircrafts to fight banditry in northwestern zone.
“He has directed the military to take control of all the major roads in zone with the aim of completely eradicating banditry”.
“So I don’t know why some people are criticizing him and calling him anti- North”.
“I want you to forget about the negative propaganda of some people who are not wishing his administration well because of political differences”.
In his effort to strengthen the APC in the state, Matawalle said he would from time to time be coming to the state to assist the party members.
He said, ” I know that most of our people are facing one problem or the other since the time we lost election”.
I will from time to time be visiting the state to know how best I can come in to assist them”.
